This Autumn Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is offering local people the chance to stand for election to join its Council of Governors.
The trust is looking for local people to represent the views of the wider public from all areas of Barnsley and beyond.
Lead Governor, Joe Unsworth said: “We are looking for people who want to be involved in the future plans of the hospital that will actively encourage others to share their views with us too.
“Our role as the council of governors is to hold the hospital’s board of directors to account for the hospital’s performance as well as helping to shape its future plans – so this really is an opportunity for people to get more involved in their hospital.”
To become a governor you must be a member of the trust. Patients and local people who would like to stand for election but are not already a member of Barnsley Hospital can still become a member and then return an election nomination.
