The energy and sustainability team at Barnsley Hospital are pleased to announce the launch of a brand new and innovative sustainability section to the Trust’s website.

This has been developed as part of the current general website overhaul and comes hot off the back of winning a national award for the “Most Sustainable Public Sector Organisation” in Health/NHS category.

Our goal is to provide patients, staff and the wider public visitors information on the progress we have made in improving our environmental sustainability.

Amongst the new features are the information is presented using infographics, links to articles and research articles, newsletters and you can downloadable versions of documents like the Trust’s Sustainability Plan.

We hope you find the new section enjoyable and interesting, informative, and we also wish to establish this section as a source of information on how visitors can become more sustainable themselves for those who visit our site.

Accompanying this launch is a short 3 minute sustainability questionnaire. Completion of this is a crucial next step to building on our award-winning efforts in sustainability. Please click here to complete.

All content, including text and infographics, is the Trust’s own. This new section will act as:
• An engrossing educational resource for staff, patients and visitors on wider sustainability issues.
• A portal through which staff can find out about green initiatives they can take part in, and the public can discover our sustainability achievements.
• A tool to drive greener behavioural change in us all.
