Philip Wainwright

Communications Manager

Philip is a graduate of the first ever NHS management training scheme in communications, which he completed in 2011.

As part of his training scheme Philip undertook placements in communications at NHS Sheffield, HR Media (a PR agency) and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. On completion of the scheme Philip worked for a year as Research Communications Officer at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, where he was responsible for raising the profile of the trust’s research and innovation.

Between July 2012 and January 2013 Philip carried out a fixed-term role at the Department of Health as a Senior Communications Officer, where he worked to communicate with patients, the public, staff and stakeholders about health policies.

A graduate of the University of Cambridge, Philip also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Communications with Distinction from Leeds Metropolitan University.

He grew up in Kenya, Zimbabwe and London.

Erin Brady

Communications Officer

Erin is Sheffield born and raised and graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a degree in Marketing, Communications and Advertising in 2012.

Erin completed a yearlong industry placement as a Communications Assistant at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals which formed part of her degree. During her time on placement at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Erin decided she wanted to continue her career in NHS Communications after graduation.

Erin was appointed Communications Officer at Barnsley Hospital in December 2013 and worked in internal communications at a private bank previous to this appointment.

Adam Tingle

Digital Communications Officer

Adam was born and raised in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, and began his career in freelance journalism, specializing in the entertainment industry.

During his university studies, Adam took part in a placement scheme at NHS Doncaster Clinical Commisioning Group, working for a year as a communications assistant. During his time there, Adam was tasked with raising the profile of the newly formed CCG and delivering effective digital  communications.

Adam was appointed Digital Communications Officer at Barnsley Hospital in July 2014.

Adam is a graduate of Sheffield Hallam University holding an Undergraduate diploma and a Masters Degree in Public Relations.

Debbie Myers

Membership and Communications Officer

Debbie was born in Hanover, Germany and raised in Northern Ireland. Debbie moved to Barnsley in 1990 and began her career in the NHS in Barnsley as a Youth Trainee in 1992.

Debbie completed an NVQ in Management and has a wealth of knowledge and considerable experience across Commissioning, Primary Care and Patient and Public Engagement.

Debbie was appointed Membership and Communications Officer at Barnsley Hospital in February 2014. Prior to her appointment Debbie raised to the challenge of progressing Patient and Public Engagement throughout Barnsley Clinical Commissioning Group and Primary Care by engaging with both patients and members of the public.
