Barnsley Hospital has launched a new revamped website to aid patients, visitor and staff.
The new website, designed in-house, brags an improved structure making it easier for patients to find the information they need before a visit to the hospital such as parking, what to bring or a leaflet on a specific health condition.
The new news section is also interactive to encourage more people to feedback to the hospital about their experiences, whether positive or negative.
Helen Stevens, associate director of communications and marketing at the hospital said:
“The aim of the new website is to answer the many questions patients, public and staff may have in the run-up to a hospital appointment, visit or working at the hospital.
The website is very often the starting point to a patient’s visit and we want to reduce any anxiety as soon as possible, making it easy to find the information they need to make their overall experience of the hospital a more positive one.
The new website also promotes feedback from patients about their experiences so that we can constantly look to make improvements. We have done this throughout the development of the website posting mock-ups of designs and layouts on a development blog asking for patient and user feedback.”
The website also includes a comprehensive guide to all the services offered at the hospital and provides key practical information such as public transport details, ward telephone numbers and visiting times across the hospital.
