Children's A&E and Assessment Unit

We see children and young people with a wide range of medical illnesses and injuries.

Right next door to our Accident and Emergency Department, the Children's Emergency Department and Assessment Unit is a very busy unit seeing thousands of attendances each year. We treat children up to age 16 with conditions ranging from minor injuries to those who have life threatening illnesses and injuries.

All patients are assessed when they arrive, and those who need urgent or immediate treatment are prioritised.
