Audiology Services

The Barnsley Audiology Department is based in Barnsley District General Hospital Outpatients. You can find us via the Outpatients department on the first floor, turn right and follow the main corridor to the end. You will go past the Chest Clinic and Orthotics on your left. The Audiology department and waiting room is at the end of the corridor.

We have a staff of 10 and are open Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:45. You can contact the service via:

Waiting Times

  • Self-referral for repair/ear insert/aid adjustment 1 – 4 days
  • From GP referral to first assessment appointment 2 – 4 weeks
  • From assessment to fitting with hearing aid 4 – 6 weeks
  • From fitting to follow-up appointment 6 – 8 weeks
