Nurse-led wound clinics

Our nurses lead some of our clinics.

This may involve attending the hospital several times a week for patients:

  • who have had reconstruction surgery
  • who have complex wound healing issues
  • who are unsuitable to be treated by a practice nurse at their GP surgery

Follow-up clinics

Follow-up clinics are for patients who have completed their breast cancer treatment. These are currently consultant (doctor) led.

Follow-up appointments usually take place three years, and then five years, after a diagnosis of breast cancer.

Generally, these appointments take place face-to-face - however, appointments can take place over telephone, on request.

Patients will have the opportunity to discuss any issues or worries they might have post-treatment.
