The Trust’s clinical trial performance is measured against 2 national benchmarks to improve the initiation and delivery of all clinical trials approved by the Trust. From April 2014 the Trust will aim to meet these benchmarks:
Initiation – it should take no more than 70 days from receipt of a research study application by the R&D to the recruitment of (i.e. consent) the 1st patient in to a trial
Delivery – for all commercial clinical trials hosted by the Trust the agreed number of patients must be recruited within the agreed recruitment period
The Trust is now obliged to submit quarterly performance reports to the Department of Health setting out our performance against these benchmarks. We also make these reports available to the public here. Please see our Trust report below:
