Performance

The Trust’s clinical trial performance is measured against two national benchmarks. These benchmarks measure, and seek to improve, the initiation and delivery of all clinical trials approved by the Trust.

Initiation – it should take no more than 70 days from receipt of a research study application by the Research & Development department to the recruitment (consent) of the first participant into a trial.

Delivery – for all commercial clinical trials hosted by the Trust the agreed number of patients must be recruited within the agreed recruitment period.

The Trust is required to submit quarterly performance reports to the Department of Health against these benchmarks. We also make these reports available to the public.

You can read our Performance in Initiating and Performance in Delivering reports, on the NIHR website.
