The Chair opportunity comes at a time of significant change in the NHS and social care landscape, with the pandemic, along with ongoing challenges around health inequalities, providing the context to our work. We are therefore seeking a collaborative and strategic Chair to lead, support and challenge our Board and our Council of Governors in delivering our vision: “to provide outstanding, integrated care”. The Chair will provide visible leadership and build trusted relationships with patients, staff, Governors and our partners within the wider system at both regional and ‘place’ based levels.

To become our new Chair, you will be an exceptional communicator who can quickly bring credibility through significant experience of Board level leadership in a large organisation. You will be experienced at chairing meetings as a Board Member and be accustomed to a high level of accountability. You will have experience of building alliances with stakeholders and demonstrate an ability to be compassionate, engaging and values-focused in your work. You will bring a track record of enabling a culture that values equality, diversity and inclusion at Board level and across organisations. Although NHS experience is not essential, you will ideally bring a well-developed understanding of healthcare, as well as experience that you can translate to our environment, demonstrating the capacity to absorb and understand health and social care policy, stakeholders, and governance requirements including an appreciation of the risks we manage in our services.
