How do we involve our service users in what we do?
Our Patient Experience and Engagement team recently hosted an event where they were joined by people who use our services at the Community Diagnostics Centre (CDC) to show them the new facility and to hear their thoughts about it.
Those in attendance had the opportunity to share their feedback and to input on what artwork we could display in the centre from Barnsley Museums. We asked the group direct questions around the centre’s environment and how we communicate with them to further improve our service offer.
By involving our local people in what we do we are to make sure we can deliver what matters most to people.
As part of this we shared our expansion plans for the next stage of work which will mean people will soon be able to have CT and MRI scans, aneurysm screening, bladder functioning tests, retinal eye screening, ECG scans which can check your heart’s rhythm and electrical activity and specialist lung function tests.
The team will be looking to host another event in the coming weeks to further explore the new services at the centre.
If you would like to be involved in future service user engagement projects or know somebody who would like to become a member of our virtual patient panel we would love to hear from you.
