rcmA local business has shown its support to Barnsley Hospital Charity’s Tiny Hearts Appeal by donating a fantastic £1000.00 to the cause.

GDA, a Barnsley-based creative and digital marketing agency, decided to donate to the Tiny Hearts Appeal after seeing the launch video, backed by Sir Michael Parkinson, on Look North earlier this month.

The Tiny Hearts Appeal aims to raise £1million over the next two years for a new Special Care Baby Unit at the hospital.

Alistair Farrant, Managing Director of GDA, said: “Rather than give Christmas gifts to our clients, we decided a couple of years ago that it would be far more meaningful to donate the money that we would have spent to a worthy cause. In seeing how it will be used by Barnsley Hospital, there is no doubt it has been a great decision as the project will make such a difference to both the babies in special care and their families”.

Alistair paid a visit to the hospital on Tuesday to hand over the donation and take a look around the current Special Care Baby Unit. Alistair was given a guided tour by Stephen Wragg, Chairman of Barnsley Hospital and staff on the unit.

Stephen Wragg said: “We are absolutely delighted with this donation. It is fantastic that local businesses are backing the appeal. I’d like to thank Alistair and his colleagues at GDA for choosing to support Barnsley Hospital and the Tiny Hearts Appeal, we are really grateful.”
