Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to announce the re-appointment of Chair, Trevor Lake.

Governors at the Trust considered the re-appointment of the Chair’s tenure earlier this year to ensure forward planning and continuity in what have been exceptionally challenging times for the hospital during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Since his appointment to the post in January 2019,  Trevor has led the Board  in continuing to help drive improvements in the health and wellbeing of the people of Barnsley whilst supporting the hospital to navigate the challenges of the pandemic whilst also playing an important role in the development of local and regional partnership working .

Trevor said “I am of course delighted to be able to continue the work I have started here in Barnsley. The last year in particular, although not without its challenges, has filled me with immense pride  for the hospital, our services and our staff colleagues.”

Mr Alan Higgins, Lead Governor, involved in the re-appointment process said: “We are very pleased with the good work achieved by Trevor in his role and the progress made in the hospital. The Council of Governors is confident that Trevor is the right person to lead the Board of Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as we move forwards beyond the pandemic.”
