How to find the Birthing Centre

The Birthing centre is located in the Women’s Services which can be accessed at the front of the hospital

Which entrance should I use?

  • 6am to 8am
    Please use the Main Reception entrance at the front of the hospital.
  • 8am to 6pm
    The Women’s Services doors will be open.
  • 6pm to 10pm
    Please use the Main Reception entrance at the front of the hospital.
  • 10pm to 6am
    ​​​​​​​There is a buzzer system at the entrance to Women's Services, to use out of hours, which connects to the birthing centre to gain access. A&E is not used anymore.

The Birthing Centre and Maternity Assessment Unit are situated on Floor 1 in the purple zone. The door is kept locked for security purposes, so use the intercom system to let us know you’re here.
