Mr JT Patko, specialises in all aspect of Hip and Knee Surgery, including, Total Hip and Knee Replacement, Hip Resurfacing, Hip and Knee Revision Surgery and Knee Arthroscopy.
Qualifying from medical university in 1991, Mr Patko entered straight in to the Trauma and Orthopaedics field and can boast over 25 years training and experience in the Orthopaedic Speciality. Mr Patko has undertaken Fellowship training in Lower Limb Arthroplasty and completed fellowships in Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Hospital in Oswestry, Queen Medical Centre Nottingham, Karlsbad Langensteinbach Germany and the Spinal Foundation in Rochdale. He was appointed to Barnsley Hospital in April 2010 as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, specialising in Hip and Knee Arthroplasty with an interest in Complex Revision.
Mr Patko performs both condylar and unicondylar primary knee Arthroplasty and utilise condylar and hinged knee replacements in revision surgery, along with hinged knees for complex and fixed deformity knee arthritis, using the Enhanced Recovery Programme for hip and knee replacement surgery.
Mr Patko also performs all routine arthroscopic procedures of the knee such as menisectomy, he has also had several peer review publications and delivered presentations both nationally and internationally on different aspects of orthopaedics.
