Patients are referred directly from the Emergency Department (A&E), adjacent to the Physiotherapy Dept with acute musculoskeletal Injuries, which are traumatic in nature.
Patients are referred directly from the Orthopaedic Consultants, which maybe from Orthopaedic Clinics or Fracture Clinic with Joint dysfunction, e.g. Osteoarthritis, Muscle and ligament strains e.g. tennis/golfers’ elbow, frozen shoulder, repetitive strain injury
Patients are referred directly from the Orthopaedic Wards at Barnsley Hospital to continue their rehabilitation.
Patients are referred directly from Orthopaedic Consultants from other neighbouring Hospitals.
All patients attend as Out Patients and have been referred by a Consultant, or Health Care Professional, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist.
Patients are assessed and treated on a one to one basis and are then referred on to other areas for the most appropriate rehabilitation; e.g. Physiotherapy Gym, Physiotherapy Department, Hydrotherapy, Community Physiotherapy and Assessment and Rehabilitation Therapy Service.
