Jenny is an Assistive Technology Specialist Occupational Therapist with the team. Jenny’s role is to work with individuals using our service to assess and provide appropriate electronic assistive technology.

Jenny graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2009 with a degree in Occupational Therapy and began working at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, before specialising in Spinal injuries. In her previous role at The Princess Royal Spinal Injuries Centre in Sheffield in spinal injuries rehabilitation Jenny taught and supported individuals with limited/no upper limb movement to use environmental controls, computers, tablets and smartphones.

Jenny started working for the Barnsley AT team as an Assistive Technology Clinical Specialist (Occupational Therapist) in April 2015. Jenny says:

It is at the Spinal Injury’s Centre that my interest in Assistive Technology was sparked as I could see how it could enable those with limited physical function to access a wide range of activities and opportunities, offering both independence and wellbeing. I have a continued interest in working with those with neurological conditions, particularly in enabling leisure activities for those with a high level of disability.
