Lissy is an Assistive Technology Specialist Speech and Language Therapist within the team. Lissy’s role is to work with individuals using our service to assess and provide appropriate electronic assistive technology.

Lissy graduated from the University of Sheffield with a BMedSci in Speech Science, whilst studying she worked in residential settings for adults with learning disabilities and physical needs. Since graduating in 2016, she has worked in the NHS as a Speech and Language Therapist with children with complex communication differences, across early years, specialist and mainstream settings, until joining the team in 2022.

Lissy says:

My passion for working with people who benefit from alternative and augmentative communication led me to pursue further knowledge and skills in the area. I love supporting people to express their personality and identity through assistive technology.

I have a special interest in supporting paediatric clients, and I enjoy working collaboratively with families. I am interested in research, new technologies and a forward thinking culture to best support those we work with!
