Relying on Assistive Technology (Critical Functions)

It must be noted that possible provision of equipment by our team can only be considered as assistive technology, it must not be used for safety critical functions. It must never take the place of any personal care input deemed essential to a specific client and their personal circumstances and situation.

Our team and contractors endeavour to respond to breakdowns as soon as possible but do not and cannot provide an emergency breakdown service.

Our team and contractors will respond to breakdowns that impact a priority function as quickly as possible and will endeavour to take remedial action as a minimum, within 48 hours of it being reported.

It is therefore important to establish a back up plan in the event the system is unavailable.

An individual must not be put at risk or medically compromised by any equipment we may provide failing to work, alternative systems and strategies must always be put in place.
