The Practice Supervisor Workshop is a 7.5 hour full study day – this is for staff who have never completed any previous mentorship training. Staff members complete a full days training with breaks to facilitate completion of a workbook throughout the day which is then marked by the Practice Educators. This enables staff to become Practice Supervisors at the end of the day.
Once the completed workbook is received and marked this competency is added on to their ESR training record, updated on the placement area PARE profile, and a certificate of completion is given also for each candidate to keep as evidence of participatory training of required for those on the NMC register for revalidation.
This training is also offered as part of the Preceptorship programme on study day 4.
