BFS Award

This award recognises stand-out individuals or teams working for Barnsley Facilities Services who have a proven record of going the extra mile, living the Trust values, and providing a first class service to BFS customers.

Charity Award

This award recognises staff members who have supported Barnsley Hospital Charity, its appeals or events either through fundraising, volunteering or other general support.

Individual Outstanding Achievement (Clinical) Award

This award recognises a member of clinical staff who, through excellent leadership skills, has inspired a change in order to achieve higher standards or make significant improvements for patients.

This could be demonstrating excellence and passion in a specific field, transforming service delivery or acting as a role model or mentor.

Individual Outstanding Achievement (Non-clinical) Award

This award recognises a member of non-clinical staff who, through excellent leadership skills, has inspired a change in order to achieve higher standards or make significant improvements for patients.

Innovation and Quality Improvement Award

This award celebrates innovation and creative ideas that have a clear benefit for patients, family members, members of staff or the Hospital in general. It could be about innovative processes or use of digital technology, or anything else you consider to be innovative!

Entries must demonstrate how the nominee has shown new ideas and initiative to enhance patient care. It can relate to an idea, service or product new to the Hospital, or applied in a way that is new to healthcare.

Partnership Award

This award is for Barnsley Hospital teams or individuals who have worked with external partners, particularly within the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Integrated Care System, to achieve a shared goal for the benefit of our patients, staff, or wider community.

Partnership projects should support our mission to provide the best possible care for the people of Barnsley and beyond, but need not be limited to projects or activities based solely in Barnsley.

Patient Care Award

Patient-centred care is about treating a person receiving healthcare with dignity and respect, and involving them in all decisions about their health. It means comforting them when they need to be comforted, being an advocate, a good listener, a teacher, an encourager, and to help them achieve their goals for recovery.

This is an award for an individual, or team, who has used their initiative to put patient care at the top of the agenda. This can include improvements to systems or procedures and learning and sharing knowledge to improve care at any level.

Entries must demonstrate how the nominee has made significant effort to improve how we provide care.

Team Outstanding Achievement (Clinical) Award

This award is for the clinical team that has demonstrated their ability to deliver clear benefits to the Trust’s service provision and performance through working together effectively and efficiently.

Entries must explain how the members of the team have worked closely together. The team must include two or more Trust staff working towards shared goals, either on a daily basis or for a project.

Team Outstanding Achievement (Non-clinical) Award

This award is for the non-clinical team that has demonstrated their ability to deliver clear benefits to the Trust’s service provision and performance through working together effectively and efficiently.

Entries must explain how the members of the team have worked closely together. The team must include two or more Trust staff working towards shared goals, either on a daily basis or for a project.

Volunteer of the Year Award

This Award recognises dedicated volunteers who have selflessly contributed their time, energy and skills.
