Barnsley Maternity Voices Partnership are teaming up with Neonatal Parents and Families in Yorkshire and Humber to take 15 steps for Maternity, with a focus on the Neonatal unit. What is 15 steps?

A toolkit developed by NHS England to look at healthcare services from the perspective of those who use them. It is based on the idea that you can tell what kind of care you will receive from taking 15 steps onto a unit.

What is the purpose of 15 steps?

To identify any improvements that could be made based on service user first impressions.

What is involved?

We would ask you to join us for a walk around the maternity unit with a questionnaire about your first impressions. After the walk of the unit, we will discuss our thoughts and suggestions. We will then produce a report for the maternity and neonatal leads with recommendations based on your suggestions.
