Community Diagnostic Centre
Practical details for anyone attending an appointment at our CDC.
Blood tests have a wide range of uses and are one of the most common types of medical test. For example, a blood test can be used to:
- Assess your general state of health
- Confirm the presence of a bacterial or viral infection
- See how well certain organs, such as the liver and kidneys, are functioning
Who is our service for?
Our phlebotomy service is available for all adult patients registered with a Barnsley GP. Patients under the age of 16 receive phlebotomy services directly from the paediatric team.
We work in partnership with GPs and other health professionals. They refer patients to the service when they need a blood test to be taken.
Blood testing (phlebotomy) service times are 8.15am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday. We are closed on weekends and bank holidays.
We are located in the hospital near the restaurant. You can call us on 01226 433963 to make an appointment.
