Get fitter for surgery

Doing what you can to improve your general health and fitness, is the best way to get ready for surgery. This will help reduce the risk of complications after your procedure and support you in your recovery. It will also support your longer-term health.

If your symptoms change or worse whilst waiting for your surgery, please get in touch with your GP who will be able to offer you the best support. 

In an emergency contact 999 or attend your local Accident & Emergency (A&E) department.
