From Tuesday 2 May 2023, patients referred by their GP for Phlebotomy services will have their appointment at Barnsley Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) in The Glass Works in Barnsley town centre.

Barnsley Hospital is one of the early adopter Trusts in introducing re-usable, eco-friendly operating theatre gowns and caps. This initiative is part of its commitment to achieving NHS net zero targets and improving its impact on the climate and environment.

Work is now completed on Barnsley Hospital’s new £7.3m Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This is a landmark for Barnsley in terms of future-proofing the town against current and future demand for intensive care beds, and is a milestone in Barnsley Hospital’s capital development projects.

Barnsley Hospital Children’s Services has teamed up with a new child-friendly app which prepares children and their parents for upcoming healthcare procedures and appointments.
